UPDATE: Sculpting Classes At The Butter End

05 Jun 2017, Posted by The Butter End Cakery in Blog, Classes

We’re so pleased to report that the first ever live model sculpting class at The Butter End was a huge success! On Sunday, May 28th, students gathered at our studio in Gardena to sculpt a three-dimensional portrait of a live model. Most of the participants had never worked with clay at all before Sunday, but everyone had a great time and produced some spectacular results! Take a look:

We’d like to extend a sincere thanks to everyone who was able to attend. And if you missed out – never fear, because:

We’ll be hosting another class on Sunday, June 25th!

This class will focus on full-figure clay modeling, and will also be designed for students of all levels of experience. Whether you have never worked with clay before, or you are an experienced artist, you will have a great time while learning how to sculpt the human form from a live model. Is this clay edible? Well, no it’s not, but what you will learn is 100% transferable to making you into a better food artist if your regular medium is edible!

Our guest instructor is Peter Zokosky. Kimberly Bailey, the owner of The Butter End, took classes from Peter Zokosky at The Getty. These workshops made such an impact on her own design work and soul that she asked Peter to teach at her studio. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a renowned teacher and acclaimed artist working with us in these small classes. For more about Peter, please see his bio below.
